Ray Colosky B. 1965 New Brunswick, NJ. Lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
Ray Colosky is an interdisciplinary artist working in both established and unorthodox materials and processes. Ranging from traditional oil painting to frozen installations, this divergent practice is informed by history, science, and a deep curiosity about nature and how it’s elements interact.
Colosky received a BFA in Ceramics from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1987. He has been awarded grants from the Warhol Foundation for the Arts, The Fleishacker Foundation, The Zellerbach Family Foundation, and the KALA Art Institute.
Past Exhibitions:
Between Earth and Emotions explores the connection between the physical world and the inner emotional landscape. The exhibition brings together works by women artists whose practices move between nature, memory, instinct, identity, and feeling. Through abstract forms, texture, color, and landscape-inspired elements, each piece reflects the tension between what is seen externally and what is experienced internally.
The exhibition invites viewers into a space that feels both grounded and deeply personal — where earth symbolizes origin, transformation, and the natural world, while emotion represents vulnerability, intuition, and human experience. Together, the works create a conversation about softness and strength, stillness and movement, and the invisible threads that connect us to ourselves and to the world around us.
